But when his wealthy father discovers that Van is still attending college, he decides to stop paying his tuition fees.

Determined to continue his carefree lifestyle, Van comes up with creative ways to earn money while maintaining his reputation as the ultimate party organiser.

Things become even more complicated when ambitious student journalist Gwen Pearson (Tara Reid) is assigned to write an article about him.

As Gwen begins investigating Van's unusual college lifestyle, an unexpected romance develops between them, forcing Van to reconsider his future.

With outrageous humour, unforgettable characters and plenty of hilarious college situations, Van Wilder delivers a classic early-2000s comedy experience.

🎬 A Classic 2000s College Comedy

Directed by Walt Becker, National Lampoon's Van Wilder (2002) helped establish Ryan Reynolds as a leading comedy actor with his charismatic performance as the legendary college party king.

Featuring Tara Reid, known for American Pie (1999), and Kal Penn, who later starred in the Harold & Kumar films, the movie combines outrageous humour with a surprisingly heartfelt story about growing up and finding your direction in life.

The film became a popular college comedy and inspired the sequel Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj (2006) and the prequel Van Wilder: Freshman Year (2009).

With its memorable one-liners, ridiculous pranks and nostalgic early-2000s atmosphere, Van Wilder remains an entertaining choice for comedy fans.

Perfect for fans of American Pie, Road Trip and Old School, this film makes a great addition to any collection of teen comedies, college movies and nostalgic 2000s cinema.
