Above the Rim is a classic 1990s basketball drama featuring Tupac Shakur in one of his best-known movie roles.

Talented high-school basketball player Kyle-Lee Watson dreams of earning a college scholarship and making something of his future. But his ambitions become complicated when he gets involved with local drug dealer Birdie, played by Tupac Shakur, while former basketball star Thomas “Shep” Sheppard tries to guide him toward a better path.

Combining basketball, street culture, crime and hip-hop, Above the Rim has become a cult favourite of 1990s urban cinema and features a memorable soundtrack associated with Death Row Records.
