👑 Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna (1986) is a captivating historical television miniseries starring Amy Irving, Olivia de Havilland and Rex Harrison.

Inspired by one of the most fascinating mysteries of the 20th century, this dramatic production explores the extraordinary story of a woman who claimed to be Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov, the youngest daughter of Russia's last tsar.

Following the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the execution of the imperial Romanov family in 1918, rumours begin to circulate that one of the tsar's daughters may have survived.

Years later, a mysterious young woman appears in Europe, claiming to be the missing princess.

Known as Anna Anderson (Amy Irving), she struggles with fragmented memories, emotional trauma and questions surrounding her true identity.

As her story attracts international attention, members of European aristocracy, former acquaintances of the Romanov family and investigators attempt to determine whether she really is Anastasia.

Some believe her remarkable story, while others suspect that she is an impostor.

With her identity constantly questioned, Anna becomes caught in a decades-long struggle for recognition.

👑 The Mystery of the Romanov Princess

Originally broadcast in 1986, Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna brings together an impressive international cast.

Amy Irving delivers a compelling performance as Anna Anderson, while legendary Hollywood actress Olivia de Havilland portrays the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna.

The miniseries also features Rex Harrison, Susan Lucci, Edward Fox and Elke Sommer.

Combining historical drama, royal intrigue, personal tragedy and mystery, the production explores the enduring fascination surrounding the Romanov dynasty.

Although later DNA evidence established that Anna Anderson was not Grand Duchess Anastasia, her story remains one of history's most famous cases of disputed identity.
