What begins as an exciting adventure quickly becomes a dangerous reality in which Michiel must deal with war, betrayal, trust and difficult choices.

With strong performances and an atmospheric portrayal of the Netherlands during the occupation, Oorlogswinter became one of the best-known Dutch war films of its generation.
