🎶 The Sound of Music (1965) is one of the most beloved musicals in cinema history, starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer.

Set against the breathtaking scenery of the Austrian Alps, this timeless classic tells an unforgettable story about music, love, family and courage.

Maria (Julie Andrews) is a cheerful young woman preparing to become a nun at an Austrian abbey. However, her free-spirited personality and love of music make it difficult for her to adjust to the strict rules of religious life.

To help her discover her true calling, the Mother Abbess sends Maria to work as a governess for the seven children of Captain Georg von Trapp (Christopher Plummer).

The widowed naval officer runs his household with military discipline, leaving little room for laughter, affection or music.

But Maria soon transforms the children's lives by introducing them to the joy of singing, playing and spending time together.

As the family grows closer, Maria develops unexpected feelings for Captain von Trapp.

Meanwhile, political tensions are rising in Austria as Nazi Germany prepares to take control of the country.

When the family's future becomes threatened, they must find the courage to stand together and make a life-changing decision.
